FUNDAMENTAL
TRADING ISSUE
September/October, 1993
Special
extended interview with Courtney Smith. Trading
at a young age, Courtney was successful enough to
retire to Mexico while still in his 20s. He came back
to fashion a remarkable commodity trading career.
In addition to trading his own money, he has been
a successful institutional trader for a Swiss bank,
written four commodity trading books, publishes an
advisory newsletter and is now also President of a
major clearing firm. During part of his trading career
he spent six months trading next to the legendary
Martin Schwartz. Has this guy got insight into successful
trading approaches!
Even
more interesting and unique is his use of fundamental
analysis in his trading decisions. He is one of the
few successful traders who consider fundamentals.
In this detailed interview he explains in detail exactly
how he approaches the markets. He describes both his
fundamental and technical approaches. He has some
particular ideas about money management and psychology.
He gives some great insights into the success of megatraders
like Paul Tudor Jones and Martin Schwartz. In short,
this is fascinating information you will find nowhere
else but in this issue of CTCR.
Educational
article by Robert Prechter. This famous analyst
rarely speaks publicly anymore. This interview reveals
some of his latest thinking on key elements of the
trading equation. Much of it is applicable to every
trader, whether or not they consider Elliott Wave
analysis. For instance, he has some specific advice
for "a new trader who seeks to achieve consistent
success." There is much, much more.
