| | The
Enigmatic Larry Williams
(June 17, 1999)
"I just wanted to take the time to respond to some of your questions regarding
Larry Williams. Overall, I think Larry is a bit of an enigma. He is a nice
man and is very prompt in returning phone calls and faxes. I have purchased
his video course- The Money Tree, and I have attended a live seminar. I
grasped the principles in his video course but found the going a bit rough at
his jam-packed seminar. There seemed to be an information gap between the video
and the seminar. Other attendees were a bit baffled as there was not a smooth
transition between the video and seminar. It was like two different languages
instead of one being a building block for the other. In talking to an attendee,
he told me that a couple of his friends spent a great deal of money to attend
a day trading seminar....something a bit more exclusive than what we had attended.
Anyway, he said his friends are trading full time successfully in just six months
after this excursion with Larry. Suffice it to say, one can make money implementing
Williams' methods; but it must be under more personal conditions--not with two
hundred people jockeying for position so they can slobber on the god of commodities.
Also, Larry is pretty crafty. While he has a pristine reputation I will give you
a double-talking example. His mailer is entitled "The Easiest Way to Make $10,000
a Month". But when you pop in the video, Larry starts off by saying "this is a
tough business". He goes on to say that money is energy and that the markets should
pretty much take all your energies. This all of the sudden doesn't sound like
the easiest way to make ten grand a month. Overall, Larry's courses are a
bit esoteric, but with persistence and a lot of money to pay for instruction,
one can eventually, I say EVENTUALLY become a successful speculator. One day I
will perhaps attend one of Larry's end-all, be-all seminars." T.T. Editor-in-Chief
Courtney Smith: Thank you for the excellent insight into Larry Williams. I
think you summed up a lot of my own feelings about Larry. First, he tends to overhype
his own products. However, in the final analysis, he has excellent ideas, is an
innovator in futures trading ideas, is a fascinating and very nice person, and
can make money as a trader! I just have the feeling that he puts out some of his
products when they are 80% completed rather than putting out the final. Thanks
for the comments. | |
